Performance of Reinforced Concrete Gable Beam with Quadrilateral Openings of Different Side Inclinations

The existence of openings in a gable beam would have numerous advantages, the most important which be reduction overall weight. These advantages include geometric flexibility, ease handling when erected, and more. This study aims to investigate flexural behavior reinforced concrete beams with quadrilateral different side inclinations; this goal has been specified stiffness, maximum load-carrying capacity, strains beams. Beams are identical their dimensions reinforcement. experimental program involved casting testing four simply supported beams: solid (reference beam) others openings. They were 3000mm long, 100mm wide, 400 mm deep middle, tapering 250 on both ends, concentrically loaded. results demonstrate capacity is reduced by 6.1–12.9%, mid-span deflection increased 13–52% exist compared beam. Enhancement represented increases strength decreases was observed inclination opening decreased from 90 60 then 45o, respectively. In contrast, total area maintained. creation can reduce weight about 12.5%.
